Founder and Managing Partner

Before becoming a lawyer, Amina Muhammad worked in-house with a prominent not-for-profit organization in Nigeria. She pursued her Master of Laws (LL.M) degree at the Nottingham Trent University (Southampton Institute) in the United Kingdom.

In 2002, following the completion of her LL.M, Amina moved to Calgary, Alberta. She worked for four years with a renowned Calgary immigrant-serving agency, where she helped clients with legal problems, including problems arising from child welfare, immigration employment, as well as landlord and tenant matters.

Amina served as a member of the Board of Directors of Calgary Legal Guidance from 2007 to 2009. She performed volunteer legal research services for the Alberta Civil Liberties Research Centre from 2006 to 2009. Her dedication to helping immigrant families settle in Canada is well-known. She continues to provide legal information as a volunteer to the New Family place in Calgary.

Amina (Osuoha) Muhammad, Barrister, Solicitor & Notary Public, received her Canadian Bachelor of Laws equivalency certificate from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada in 2008. In 2009 Amina worked in the areas of labor and employment law, family, wills and estate, immigration, real estate, corporate law, and personal injury as an articling student at a prestigious Calgary law firm.

She also served part of her term of articles at a not-for-profit legal research center here in Calgary providing information to distress callers in the areas of human rights and civil liberties and undertaking several legal research projects.

On completing her term of articles, Amina was called to the Alberta bar in 2010. She then practiced corporate commercial law, administrative law and alternative dispute resolution with a medium-size Calgary law firm from 2010 to 2013. Amina’s administrative law and alternative dispute resolution experience include legal research, interviewing clients, preparing clients for and representing them in adjudication hearings as well as negotiating settlements and compensations on their behalf. Amina has appeared extensively before adjudication tribunals in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. She also practiced corporate commercial law conducting legal, due diligence and preparing due diligence reports, helping prepare transaction documents as well as structuring and closing commercial transactions.
